Puerto Rico is a comparatively small island situated in the Eastern Caribbean and one of the few commonwealth states that the United States has, outside the 50 states that make up the US proper. So, while Puerto Rican people are US citizens, they enjoy a high degree of self governance, except in some matters such as defence, foreign affairs, currency, etc. Other than the native Indians, the island was initially settled by the Spaniards and later annexed by the US. Therefore, Puerto Rican culture is really diverse with a predominantly Spanish atmosphere and outlook, and that language being as commonly used as English, if not more so.

Puerto Rico has been a favourite travel destination for tourists from all over the world and especially the US. With its magnificent beaches, breathtaking scenery and old world charms combined with a modern outlook, the island has also become one of the most happening wedding destinations for those who can afford it. There are a number of travel packages promoted by both agencies and hotels in Puerto Rico to cater for this very important activity in the life of a couple.

There are also some photographers based out of the island who specialise in clicking images and recording videos at weddings - before, after and in between! Some of them even provide a complete package on their own, both to the locals and to those arriving from outside Puerto Rico. The arrangements include everything, right from the time of the arrival at the main airport (or port) through to the time of the couple's departure to wherever their actual place of residence is.

These individuals are usually bilingual, if not multilingual, so as to facilitate their interaction between clients, who may or may not be Spanish speaking and the locals, who most certainly are. The more exclusive wedding photographers shoot at only a limited number of weddings every year as they want to be able to spend the maximum time with their clients and get to the real 'inner person'. For example, Puerto Rico Wedding Photographer Jose Febus writes in his home page that his photography style is non obtrusive, because he wants to capture mostly the spontaneous and magical moments, as they happen, that make the special day so memorable. While a few 'casually posed' photographs are a necessity, these expert photographers try to behave more like photojournalists. Some of the individual photographs are absolutely stunning and the wedding photo galleries are very professional and . glamorous!

So if you are planning a beautiful vacation with your significant other (not yet a spouse), consider taking the plunge in beautiful Puerto Rico and remember to engage an expert wedding photographers who will provide images to make all your friends and family extremely jealous of you!
